• School begins at 8:10 a.m. this school year for grades K - 5. Our first bell will ring at 8:07 a.m. and by 8:10 a.m. all students must be in their classrooms sitting at their desk and ready to begin. Any students arriving after 8:10 a.m. will be considered tardy.

• Dismissal times:

• Modified Days: Once again the district has agreed to have every Wednesday as a modified day at all elementary and intermediate schools, district-wide for the 2011 - 2012 school year. The purpose these modified days is to provide teachers with an opportunity to collaborate with one another to discuss instructional strategies for effective teaching. This means that Walker will release students early every Wednesday for the entire school year, August thru June.

Walker Elementary

History of Name

Adeline C Walker, born in July 10, 1904, once was described as the "real heart and soul of Santa Ana."  She graduated from Santa Ana High School in 1921and was responsible for the restored Victorian Howe - Waffle house in Santa Ana.  She is also credited with having the county court house declared a historic monument.
