NANCY AGUIRRE AND KRISTINE POLLARD NAMED EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH FOR FEBRUARY 2017
The Board of Education at its February 15, 2017 meeting recognized Kristine Pollard as Certificated Employee of the Month and Nancy Aguirre as Classified Employee of the Month for February. Congratulations to both!
Pollard is a 24 year veteran of the Santa Ana Unified School District and is fourth grade teacher at Jefferson Elementary School.
Principal Fernando Durán said she is an innovative teacher, as she uses technology to teach Common Core standards, started a live streaming TV station for the school, and writes and directs a schoolwide spring musical every year.
"Mrs. Kristine Pollard is very kind, considerate and is very connected to her students," Durán said. "Always making learning a wonderful and entertaining experience for them."
Aguirre is a 10 year veteran of the District and is an instructional assistant working with severely disabled students at Kennedy Elementary School.
Principal Steven Kotsubo said that Aguirre is well known by the school community for her helpfulness and thoughtfulness, as she tutors students after school, cultivates a schoolwide vegetable garden, and helps prepare many special needs students each year to participate in the school's talent show.
"She is reliable and full of compassion, and in her quiet and humble way, she is constantly giving of herself for the benefit of others," he said. "Her qualities are what we strive for and hope for in each of our students."
